The Legends of Fuzz series from JHS is a collection of some of the most iconic and sought-after fuzz circuits in history. Kay Musical Instruments, founded by Henry "Kay" Kuhrmeyer in 1931, entered the guitar pedal market in the late 1960s with a series of unusual plastic pedals. The Kay Fuzz Tone was likely released in 1967 or 1968 and was designed as a low-cost version of the Shin-ei/Univox Superfuzz. Despite its budget origins, the Kay Fuzz Tone became a favorite of guitarists like The Edge. Now, 54 years later, JHS is releasing their version of the Kay Fuzz Tone with the Mary-K. This pedal features additional knobs and an expression pedal output for those who want to use it as originally intended.
