In 1972, musician and innovator Glen Quan, in collaboration with Leo Malliari of Leo's Music in Oakland, CA, introduced the first "Badass" bridges for guitars and basses. These bridges, made from a high-density Zinc alloy, brought significant improvements in attack, sustain, and note clarity to instruments. They quickly gained popularity among artists seeking to upgrade their Fender basses and even became featured on several Fender artist signature models. Throughout the 1980s, BC Rich, Spector, and Kramer also adopted Badass bridges as original equipment, further increasing their recognition.

The Badass OGT bridges, designed as direct replacements for Squier and Fender basses, offer several notable improvements over the original bridges while retaining their classic appearance.
