In 1972, musician and innovator Glen Quan, in collaboration with Leo Malliari of Leo's Music in Oakland, CA, introduced the first "Badass" bridges for guitars and basses. These bridges, made from a high-density Zinc alloy, brought significant improvements in attack, sustain, and note clarity to instruments. They quickly gained popularity among artists seeking to upgrade their Fender basses and even became featured on several Fender artist signature models. Throughout the 1980s, BC Rich, Spector, and Kramer also adopted Badass bridges as original equipment, further increasing their recognition.

Today, Badass is renowned globally as the benchmark for high-quality replacement hardware that enhances the tone, playability, and aesthetics of guitars and basses.

The Badass OGT bridges, designed as direct replacements for Squier and Fender basses, offer several notable improvements over the original bridges while retaining their classic appearance. These enhancements include a cast base plate for improved stability and better contact with the back of the headstock. Additionally, a hex-head worm-gear tension screw reduces slipping, ensures smooth operation, and enhances tuning accuracy. Lastly, the tuning key stem has been slightly lengthened to provide better clearance around the headstock. In essence, these Badass OGT bridges offer an upgrade that maintains the classic look but delivers superior performance.

  • High-tolerance 22:1 gear ratio for maximum accuracy and minimal slippage
  • Cast Zinc base plate for improved stability and improved contact with the back of the headstock
  • Hex-head worm-gear tension screw reduces slip, ensures a smooth feel, and improves tuning accuracy
  • Lengthened tuning key stem and two post sizes accommodate a wide range of Squier and Fender models
  • Classic aesthetic preserves the look of your favorite bass
  • 4 screw parallelogram mounting screw pattern (drilling new holes may be required)
