Returns and Exchanges

You may exchange or return for full refund items within 30 days if in unused new condition and in original packaging (100% Satisfaction Guarantee).

  • 30 days is determined from whichever applies: purchase date (in-store purchases), shipment date (CosmoMusic.ca purchases), or pick up date (curbside or pick up in-store CosmoMusic.ca purchases).

  • Returns for purchases made between October 25th to December 10th will have an extended return privilege until January 9th of the new year.

  • Items purchased in-store from October 29, 2020 will be allowed an extension period of 30 days after the store re-opens (after the York Region Grey-Lockdown Zone has been removed).

  • Some exceptions apply, which typically include gift receipts, shipping charges, special orders, items marked as final sale, health reasons, or copyright reasons. See exception details below for a more comprehensive list as well as CosmoMusic.ca product pages.

  • All returned items must be in the same condition as when you purchased it, in original packaging, with all manuals and warranty card. Returns should show no signs of wear or abuse otherwise the return will either be refused or subject to a minimum 15% restocking fee (restocking fee rate at Cosmo Music's sole and arbitrary discretion).

  • All repair or service costs required to put items into original condition as when purchased will be deducted from the refund.

  • Purchases made by credit or debit card must be returned on the card of original purchase. Purchases made using a credit on account or gift card will be refunded back to the same.

  • After we process a refund, it may take up to one week for your card issuer to process the refund on their end before you see it on your statement.

  • Purchases made in-store or online cannot be accepted at curbside.

Return Exceptions

Below details our return exceptions to our policy; we will gladly refund or exchange because of an error on our part or we have determined that the product is defective.

 

Product Exceptions

Open packages of reeds, harmonicas, wooden recorders, earbuds, in-ear monitors, ear plugs, DJ stylus and cartridges, opened strings, amplifier tubes, software, print music, books, CDs, videos, and Cosmo Music store gift cards may not be returned.

 

Protection of Artist's Copyrighted Work

Cosmo Music upholds Canadian and International Copyright Laws to protect the rights of artists that make music. Copyright Law prohibits reproduction by means of photocopying, handwriting, printing, or taking photographic images of copyrighted printed materials. In support of those who create and publish copyrighted works, there are absolutely no refunds or exchanges on printed music. Once print music has been purchased it is considered used and cannot be re-sold.

 

Special Orders

Custom orders arranged with our Cosmo Team and limited edition items may not be returned under any circumstances. Returns may not be available on specially-ordered products or products not in stock at time of order.

 

Shipping Charges

Shipping charges are non-refundable, however, we will gladly refund your original shipping cost from Cosmo if you are returning an item because of an error on our part or we have determined that the product is defective.

 

Services

Our return policy does not apply to services including rentals, repairs, lessons, or Cosmo Pro.

 

Gift Receipts

Gift receipts are valid for exchange or store credit only.

 

Christmas Gift Returns

Shipping your Return to Cosmo

Before shipping items back to Cosmo Music, submit a request to return. Shipping charges back to Cosmo is your responsibility, however, we will gladly arrange shipping back to us if it is deemed you would like to return an item because of an error on our part or we have determined that the product is defective. Return shipping and insurance is at your expense; Cosmo Music is not responsible for loss of returned items during shipping. We recommend Purolator as a reliable shipping option.

Bringing your Return to Cosmo

In-store or CosmoMusic.ca purchases may be returned in-store with a receipt or shipment packing slip. An immediate refund may not always be possible; your items will be forwarded to the appropriate team member to be reviewed.
