Nowadays most saxophones look the same, same finish, same keys - but not P. Mauriat's PMXT-66RX "Influence" model. In this case, just one look at this sax is enough to say that it is something very special - and it is.
There are no abalone or pearl key touches. They have been replaced by the addition of nickel silver touches, the same ones that are used in flutes.
P. Mauriat PMXT-66RX "Influence" bears a strong resemblance to the PMXT-66 model. It still has a giant sound similar to vintage horns. The intonation is spot on but the ergonomics is really something that will change the whole impression for the player.
The nickel silver key touches make the grip much more stable and secure. The key touches that P.Mauriat uses are bigger than the pearl touches that help to feel more "vibration" when playing.
